The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
The Government has said that the Opposition do themselves no favours by highlighting the position of arrears of housing rent. A spokesperson said: “They have the cheek to complain that these stand at £4.9 million when no less than £4 million of that sum was actually inherited from them during their time in office!”
As part of its commitments under the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, the Environmental Action & Management Plan and the Government’s Green Procurement Policy, the Department of the Environment is organising a two-day training course on sustainable construction.
