Gibraltar Crime Report for 20th - 22nd March 2015
From the hour of 07:00 on the 20th March, to 07:00 on the 22nd March 2015, the following occurred:
Arrests:
3 persons arrested on strength of Warrants issued by Magistrates Court.
2 persons arrested on suspicion of Assault.
1 person arrested on suspicion of Assault and Criminal damage.
1 person arrested on suspicion of Driving a Motor vehicle with alcohol concentration above the prescribed limit, possession of a controlled drug, Obstructing Police (drugs) and on suspicion of taking a conveyance.
The GSD has said that the suggestion from the Chief Minister that the reason for the adjournment of the Dr Giraldi Motion is because the Leader of the Opposition did not agree to take the Bill to establish the Gibraltar University on an urgent basis is “nonsensical” adding that his comment that the Leader of the Opposition is “paranoid” is “infantile" and “not worthy of response.”
The European Commission has today given assurances to Julie Girling, Member of the European Parliament for South West England and Gibraltar, that the lengthy border delays of recent years will become a thing of the past following the reconstruction of the vehicle and passenger crossing point between Gibraltar and Spain.
As part of the Gibunco Group’s 50th Anniversary celebrations they are making a sizeable donation of books, written by former teacher Richard Garcia, to schools around Gibraltar in order for pupils to have a better grasp on local history.
