The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
In line with the commitment in its general election manifesto, the Government will publish a Command Paper for legislation which will further enhance and protect people with disabilities. The terms of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has been used as a model for a Bill which will make provision for the betterment of persons with disabilities within Gibraltar.
