Weekends
Weekends are just not long enough. Finishing work late on Friday, I was torn between going home, or going to my local for a few drinks. My week had been so busy that I opted to go home. A hot cup of tea and a shower later I was snuggled up in bed with a good book.
But as weekends go, there would be no rest for the wicked:
Pick up’s from Malaga
Visits to furniture stores, assemble furniture.
Clean house
Wash clothes
Weekly groceries shopping trip
Prepare meals for the following week.
The list of things to do, getting bigger and, more complex than planning the invasion of Iran (Which seems to be on the cards). The whole weekend has left me emptier than the Arsenal trophy cabinet, so much so that I have actually been looking forward to getting into work.
Modern living just isn’t what it used to be. What happened to long walks in the winter sun? Actually playing a game of football, not watching or playing it on Xbox.
We seem to be work driven and, apart from the usual blow out on Friday nights and the accompanying hangover in the morning, all that’s left for the weekend is more work.
I did not want to tie myself to a new years resolution but if I had to choose one, it would probably be promising to live a little.
