Nov 20 - RGP Customs and GDP Clamps Down on Contraband Control
20 November 2013
Customs Officials, the Royal Gibraltar Police and the Gibraltar Defence Police have together launched a contraband-control operation with an aim to combat illicit activity both overland and by sea.
The operation is primarily directed at unlawful cigarette exportation but includes other related aspects of criminal activity including unlawful entry to the jurisdiction, the attempted import or export of controlled substances or merchandise and the anti-social behaviour deriving from these activities.
The combined Law Enforcement detail involves over 30 officers from all agencies. This will be evidenced by a high-visibility presence of officers from all agencies at entry & exit points coupled with targeted operations against suspect activity.
