The Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia has told Parliament that he leaves for Brussels tomorrow in order to open an important exhibition about Gibraltar in the European Parliament. This is part of the policy of the Government to continue to raise the profile of Gibraltar in the EU, in particular in the present climate.

ECONOMY & PUBLIC FINANCES: The Chief Minister has painted a positive picture of the Gibraltar economy, telling Parliament that the GDP forecast for 2016/17 is £1.91 billion. This would represent an increase of 8.9% or £156.25million, with a surplus of £75.8 million which is expected to be closer to £78million.

Gibraltar Finance is hosting a series of discussions on “Gibraltar as a preferred jurisdiction for the UK and Commonwealth countries” in Gibraltar House, London this coming Wednesday 28th June. The event has been organised in partnership with the Gibraltar Funds and Investment Association (GFIA).
The Gibraltar Health Authority has announced that as from 19th June, the Community Mental Health Team introduced a phased enhancement and extension to their service provision, through the introduction of an ‘outreach support team’. This team will offer an additional tier of support for community patients outside normal hours.
