Jul 23 - Government: Feetham Will Face The Music In Parliament
23 July 2013
The Government says that the latest statement by the Opposition calling for independent adjudication as to whether the Chief Minister misled Parliament or not is “complete nonsense.”
A spokesperson said: “It shows once again that the Leader of the Opposition simply does not understand or appreciate how our parliamentary democracy works.
“The plain fact is that if Mr Feetham believed that Parliament had been misled he should have moved a motion to that effect. The fact that he has not done so shows that he prefers instead the easy option of issuing press releases which are not challenged on the spot.
“He will now face the music in Parliament in September when the Government will respond to each and every one of his baseless accusations.”
