Nov 25 - easyJet To Increase Flights Between Gibraltar And London By Next Summer
easyJet has scheduled a 15% increase in flights between Gibraltar and London Gatwick for Summer 2016, with an additional 13,000 seats being made available between 28 March 2016 and 4 September 2016.
The airline currently operates flights to London Gatwick once a day, but the increase in its schedule means that from 28 March 2016, and throughout the summer, it will fly twice a day on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and from 19 July 2016 will start flying twice a day on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Commercial Manager, commented: ‘We are really pleased to further strengthen connections between Gibraltar and London Gatwick and these additional flights will make it even easier for our passengers to travel between the two, whether they are flying for business or leisure.’
Minister for Tourism, Samantha Sacramento, said: ‘This is excellent news and shows how easyJet’s commitment to Gibraltar continues to grow. This extra capacity will no doubt be welcomed by the local tourism, leisure and hospitality industry. We are pleased that the airline has taken this initiative. The growth in air capacity to Gibraltar from the UK is a reflection of the excellent marketing work being carried out by the Gibraltar Tourist Board in together with its tourism partners, easyJet being one such partner. Her Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar has worked hard to stimulate growth in air services and the results are clear for everyone to see.’
