Dec 16 - St Bernadette’s Resource Centre Users Enjoy This Year’s Christmas Play
Service users from St Bernadette’s Resource Centre, the Care Agency’s learning disability day service, held their annual Christmas play at the Central Hall this week. This year the play was divided into three enjoyable acts.
The play opened with a sensory story using call and response with Makaton, a language programme that uses signs and symbols to support spoken language and help people communicate. This was followed by several songs from the well-known and loved musical The Sound of Music and concluded with a variety of Christmas songs.
Service users performed with great confidence and with no stage fright whatsoever. They have been working very hard over the last few months and it most certainly paid off with a performance enjoyed by family, friends and guests.

The Minister for Social Services, Samantha Sacramento, attended the show and said: “Once again the show was a great success. All of the service users and their audience clearly enjoyed the performance. This play would not have been possible without the commitment and dedication of the staff and management at St Bernadette’s, who are incredibly dedicated to the service.”
The Care Agency takes this opportunity to wish everybody a merry Christmas.
