RGP Officers Receive Commendations

Three Royal Gibraltar Police officers have this afternoon received Commissioner’s commendations following their investigation into convicted child sex offender Graham Southwell.
Detective Sergeant Jo Ullger, Detective Constable Maxine Rodriguez and Detective Constable Daniel Rodriguez were recognised for their hard work in a case described as “extremely complex, protracted and sensitive.”
Their investigation helped secure guilty verdicts for 19 child sex offences against five victims.
Southwell was sentenced to 39 years in prison last week, in what was one of the longest sentences handed down in living memory.
In handing over the commendations to the officers, Commissioner of Police Richard Ullger said: “I am immensely proud of the achievements made by the officers when investigating this heinous crime, and I’m grateful for the dedication and commitment they have displayed throughout.”
