Gibraltar Citizen’s Advice Bureau Celebrate Volunteer’s Week

The Gibraltar Citizens Advice Bureau will mark Volunteer’s Week from 1st - 5th June by thanking and recognising the work of its volunteers.

A sttaement from the Gibraltar Citizens Advice Bureau follows below:

Volunteer’s Week 2026 is from the 1st – 5th June. The Gibraltar  Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) would like to take this time to reflect  and think about the hard work volunteers carry out locally and  thank them for their unwavering support.

CAB have volunteers who make a great contribution to outreach  services, as well as within other specialist services the Bureau has  set up for the community. CAB will be recognising volunteers on  Friday 5th June with Minister for Equality, Employment, Culture  and Tourism, the Hon. Christian Santos GMD MP presenting  certificates.

For many voluntary and community groups, volunteers are their  lifeblood. In many cases these groups would not be able to  function without the tireless support they receive from volunteers.  Volunteers make a real difference to people’s lives and put to good  use to their experience and expertise and can also develop new  talents and skills.

Gibraltar is gifted with many selfless individuals who give up their  time, effort and dedication and CAB would like to raise awareness  of their valuable work and thank them for their voluntary work for  the community through CAB and other entities. Their dedication

and support help charities and organisations to function.

Minister Santos said; “Gibraltar’s volunteers give so much of their  time to enable charities, associations and organisations to offer  services which they may not be able to without their assistance.  Volunteering is a selfless act, and most do so without expectation  of recognition or reward. CAB’s certificate presentation is a lovely  gesture which I am sure will be appreciated by the recipients. I  would like to encourage everyone in our community to think about  volunteering. It is invaluable for groups and very personally  rewarding.”
