GibSams Launches New Face-to-Face Listening Service

GibSams have announce the launch of its new face-to-face listening service, available Monday to Friday from 2pm to 5pm at their offices at 50 Line Wall Road.
A statement from GibSams follows below:
This development extends GibSams’ overall service hours by an additional three hours each weekday, offering more opportunities for those in need of support to speak to a trained volunteer listener.
Visitors to the new service can simply ring the doorbell at the Line Wall Road premises and they will be welcomed by one of our volunteer listeners. The service is free, confidential, and available to anyone who would like to talk in a safe and supportive environment. Our online chat service, which can be accessed via www.gibsams.gi, is also available during these new hours.
This significant step forward builds on other recent developments, including the introduction of WhatsApp to our existing chat service. Together, these services increase accessibility and provide our community with more options to reach out, whether in person, by phone, or online.
Brenda Cuby, CEO of GibSams, said: “This new face-to-face service marks an important moment for GibSams. By extending our service hours from 6pm to 11pm to now include 2pm to 5pm in person, we are widening access to support at a time when it’s needed most. It’s a huge step forward for both our organisation and the community we serve.”
We are grateful to all those who have helped make this possible. From our dedicated volunteers—whether providing outreach, delivering training, or offering listening support—to our corporate sponsors. A special thanks goes to Admiral Insurance (Gibraltar) Limited, whose financial contribution has been key in helping to fund volunteer training and the refurbishment of the office space now being used for this new service.
Looking ahead, GibSams’ face-to-face listening service will also be made available at several high-profile events over the coming months, starting with the upcoming boxing event at Europa Point Arena, organised by Warren Boxing Management and Trinity Entertainment Boxing. We are committed to bringing support directly into our community and being present at events where people may need someone to listen.
