RAF Recruitment Opportunity

The Royal Air Force (RAF) have announced a significant change in recruitment policy that will now allow British nationals resident in Gibraltar to apply to join the RAF directly for the first time.
A statement from British Forces Gibraltar follows below:
This change in policy removes the previous requirement for British nationals’ resident in Gibraltar to have lived in the United Kingdom for five years prior to enlistment. To mark the launch of this change, an RAF recruitment team will visit Gibraltar from Wednesday 14 May to Friday 16 May to engage with potential candidates and their families.
As part of the visit, the RAF will host an open evening on Thursday 15 May at Western Hangar, RAF Gibraltar, starting at 19:00. The event will include interactive displays, information on career opportunities, and the chance to speak directly with serving RAF personnel about life in the service.
Potential recruits will be able to explore the wide range of professions available - ranging from pilots and engineers to cybersecurity specialists and logisticians. There will also be opportunities to learn about the RAF’s world-class training, benefits, and the values that underpin its proud tradition of service.
Parents and guardians of potential candidates are warmly invited to attend the open evening, where they can ask questions and gain insight into the recruitment process and what life in the RAF entails.
Wing Commander Tom Harvey, RAF Gibraltar Station Commander, said:
“We are delighted to now be able to welcome applications from eligible British nationals in Gibraltar. Gibraltar has a long and proud connection with the British Armed Forces, and this change reflects the RAF’s commitment to offering opportunities to talented individuals from across the British Overseas Territories. We look forward to meeting the community during our visit in May.”
Further details on eligibility and the application process will be made available at the event and through RAF recruitment channels.
