Chamber Welcomes Airport Taxi Service

The Chamber has said that it welcomes the latest regulatory changes introduced by the Government to ensure that a minimum number of taxis are available at the airport for up to 90 minutes after each flight arrival.
A statement continued: “Twelve months ago almost to the day the Chamber commented that the City taxi service, which is responsible for serving journeys to and from the airport, was well below acceptable levels of service with customers often left stranded trying to get to or from the airport. This new development offers the promise of a much improved service at the Airport for locals and visitors alike.
“The Chamber and its members now look forward to further enhancements of the City service, including the ready availability of taxis at the main ranks around town and also the ability to pay for fares by credit or debit card in all taxis as many passengers no longer carry cash.”
