Minister for Equality, Employment, Culture and Tourism, Christian Santos has congratulated local dancers for their success at the Global Dance Open competition held at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham, UK.

As well as many achievements, Danza Academy’s Competition Team were awarded 15 podiums including 3 gold medals. A special mention to Robyn Xiberras who performed in the exclusive GDO Gala that showcases the world’s finest dancers. 

Minister Santos has already written to Anne Marie Gomez and Zuleika Green personally to congratulate them on the awards achieved at the Finals and to commend them for their coaching and mentoring of these young dancers. He also thanks the dancers’families, without whose support and encouragement, these achievements would not be possible. 

The results at these international events are always important to Gibraltar and a source of great pride for the community at large.

Whenever Gibraltarians fly the flag overseas, they do so with my support and that of the entire community. Congratulations to all involved for their talent, hard work and commitment to their art.”
