RGP Officer Participates in the International Women in Policing Conference

RGP Inspector Tanya McLeod recently participated in the International Association of Women in Policing (IAWP) Conference, which this year was held in Glasgow, Scotland. Her attendance followed her being awarded the prestigious British Overseas Territories Women in Policing (BOT WIP) Leadership Award, earlier this year.
The conference brings together police officers from all over the world.
Insp McLeod, who is currently acting as Detective Chief Inspector with RGP Crime & Protective Services said, "Attending the conference was a great opportunity for me to hear from some very inspiring and professional female leaders from across the world.
"Some of the stand-out sessions for me were hearing first-hand from the Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) in the Sarah Everard murder investigation, regarding the challenges they faced and how that case has changed UK policing; Assistant Chief Constable of Police Scotland speaking about the excellent work they're doing to tackle misogyny in their organisation; and hearing from Dr. Sajjan Sohel about the links between misogyny and terrorism. I would like to thank the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), for funding my attendance."
