May 21 - Gibraltarian Wins Miss Great Britain Derby
Gibraltarian graduate, Natasha Pizzarello was this weekend crowned Miss Great Britain Derby in a pageant organised by Modelzed. Natasha had previously participated in the Miss England pageant and enjoyed the experience so much that she entered her local pageant.
Natasha explained that when she heard her name announced as one of the top five finalists she was in a complete state of shock. Responding to judges’ questions on what it would mean to win the pageant, Natasha exclaimed that it would mean the world to her to represent the city she has lived in for the past four years whilst completing her law degree and legal practice course, she also noted that if she were to win, she would use her title as a platform to carry out as much charity work as possible.
During the contest, Natasha was also awarded the Miss Personality category. Commenting to YGTV on her win, Natasha stated, ‘when the moment came to announce the top 3 winners, all the contestants were huddled in a group holding hands wishing everyone luck. My best friend was called in third place and I was so happy for her, then second place was called, it was at this point that me and the final 2 girls left in top 5 were cuddling each other. The last thing I expected in that moment was to hear my name being called, the contestants that were backstage with me all ran to me congratulating me pushing me to go on stage and my best friend was on stage screaming in excitement.
Going on stage and getting crowned was the most amazing feeling ever all I could think of and say is how did i manage to do this, I never win anything.
Now I have 6 months until the Miss Great Britain Grand Final, which is taking place on the 14th and 15th November in Leicester, and I am so excited about it. My next steps are to gain as much publicity as possible in order to help me to raise and help charities here in Derby and in Gibraltar as much as I possibly can.’
