Five TA soldiers from The Royal Gibraltar Regiment were recently presented their promotions by Officer Commanding Major Ernest ‘Tito’ Danino.

Colour Sergeant Hernandez was promoted to Warrant Officer Class 2 and will become the new Company Sergeant Major.  Sergeant Hitchcock received his Colour Sergeant and is a Platoon Commander. Corporal Vinas was promoted to Sergeant and is now the new Training Sergeant within the Recruiting Team. Lance Corporal Vazquez who is the Detachments Commander for B Company was promoted to Corporal and Private Consigliero received his Lance Corporal and is now the Section Second in Command.

Major Danino was delighted to see the soldiers receive their promotion and is impressed with the level of commitment from these soldiers and their ability to juggle their civilian working life with their dedication to the Regiment, he said: “All of these soldiers are very supportive of B Company and they have attended career courses in the UK in order to qualify for promotion. We recently went to Brecon in Wales for our Annual two week Training Camp which was a great experience and helped to develop their infantry skills. We really appreciate how much their employers have supported their training and development recognising the skills that they bring to their civilian workplace”
