Sep 19 Gibraltar stamps "Endangered Animals Part III"
Her Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar and the Gibraltar Philatelic Bureau have issued a set of stamps featuring Endangered Animals.
This is the third set issued for this very popular series of stamps. The set comprises of 6 x 42p stamps depicting the Asiatic Cheetah, African Penguin, Atlantic Bluefun Tuna, Chinese Alligator, Red-crowned Crane and Leatherback Sea Turtle.
The illustrations were specially commissioned for these stamps and were produced by Jonathan Pointer, a UK based wildlife artist. Jonathan Pointer is renowned around the globe for his talents as a wildlife artist and his work has a traditional feel, combining realism and a strong sense of narrative.
The stamps and first day covers are now available to view and purchase from the Philatelic Shop at the Main Post Office and online from www.gibraltarstamps.com
