Nov 18 - Sir Adrian's Letter To People Of Gibraltar
Below is a letter sent to the press by Sir Adrian and Lady Johns following their return to the UK last week:
Sir,
Last Wednesday's send off was the culmination of four wonderful years on the Rock for us and we beg the use of your columns to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks to the government and people of Gibraltar for everything you have done.
As we settle back into the gloomy chill of a November in the UK we are only too aware that the weather is only one tiny aspect of what we are already missing . Most of all it is the warmth, friendship and support of a quite unique community that have made such an impact upon us.
We leave Gibraltar with the fondest of memories and a deep sense of commitment to the well-being and future of a very special place and a very special people.
Thank you all.
Adrian and Suzie Johns
