Dec 09 - GSD Concerned Over GHA Promotions

The GSD says it is concerned with the outcome of interviews, held some months ago, with the recent announcement that all three competing applicants ended up obtaining the single post advertised of District Nursing Charge Nurse/Sister Manager at the Primary Care Centre, despite this not having been announced beforehand.  The GSD argues that this is surprising as due process in the recruitment of GHA managerial personnel appears to have been changed without explanation.  The Opposition says this move defies logic as the “goalposts seem to have moved.”

When he stood here 7 years ago, Sir Rob Fulton commented in his inaugural address, that he was the first Royal Marines Governor in the long history of Gibraltar: remarkable in many ways, given the very close bonds and linkages between us.  Now, only a short time later, you have another Royal Marines Governor – it is sometimes said that you can have too much of a good thing – I hope it is not so in this case.

Dec 06 - National Dance Team To Compete In World Modern And Jazz Championships

The Gibraltar National Dance Team is all set to participate at the 2013 World Modern and Jazz Dance Championships. The event that will be staged in Mikolajki, Poland, will see over 1,400 dancers from 25 countries taking part. Dancers will be travelling from four continents to join in this spectacular event organised by the International Dance Organisation (IDO).
