2 Persons arrested for Criminal Damage
1 Person arrested for being in possession of a bladed article & Resisting Arrest
1 Person arrested for Driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs and possession of a controlled drug.
7 Warrants Executed
The Government has been served with further proceedings relating to a GSD housing development, following another set of claims last week.
The claim, seeking liquidated damages in the sum of twenty seven million six hundred and eighty eight thousand pounds (£27,688,000.00), and further unliquidated amounts, is in relation to the development of the Waterport Terraces housing estate by the former GSD administration. The claimant is the liquidator of a subsidiary of Bruesa SA, the first construction company that the GSD administration contracted to build that estate as well as the Mid-Harbours Estate.
An extensive search and rescue operation carried out early on Saturday morning by the Gibraltar Emergency services discovered a Syrian man, suffering from shock, hyperthermia and scraped hands after him and another Syrian national jumped from a bulk carrier they were working on. The ship, the MV Rising Falcon had been anchored in BGTW until 3am on Saturday when it left the area. The men had intended to swim to shore.
Childline’s annual week of raising awareness and funds takes place from the 16-20 March 2015 and this year the charity is asking companies to become more involved with their work through corporate social responsibility (“CSR”) initiatives.
