Major General Richard Semple CBE visited Gibraltar last weekend to present a “Sapper Chalice” to the King’s Chapel which has been donated by the Royal Engineers.
Dec 02 - We’ll Be Home For Christmas – An Exploration Of The First World War
A presentation by Group 2000 featuring poetry and photos relating to the First World War will take place on Thursday 4th December at 8pm at the Garrison Library.
Dec 02 - Claire Nunez in Miss Supranational Final
Friday will see Miss Gibraltar’s 2nd Princess, Claire Nunez take part in the Miss Supranational finals, to be held in Poland. During her time in Poland thus far, Claire has participated in the Miss Fashion World Competition. Last week online voting for the final 20 contenstants commenced.
Dec 02 - On Happiness

I recently watched some documentaries during a Netflix binge on the idea of happiness. One of them was Happy (2011) by director Roko Belic and the other was I Am (2011) by director Tom Shadyac. The one that struck me the most was Happy, a documentary about what people from around the world consider to be their own happiness. The contrast of seeing a large family in Louisiana, USA, find their happiness in having very little material goods and seeing a young, suited up adult on the streets of New York answering the question “What will make you feel successful and happy?” with “Right now? Money” made me wonder what people in Gibraltar consider to be happiness, and how they think they achieve it.
