European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for ForeignAffairs José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels on Thursday 16th May.
The Chamber of Commerce says it is heartened that the Gibraltar Taxi Association agrees with the Chamber’s comments on the poor state of the City Taxi Service when interviewed by GBC. The Chamber says that recognition of the situation is the first step in trying to resolve it.
The GSD notes that Karel Lannoo, the Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for European Studies, has said: “The views of the Chief Minister were rather utopian, and ... either the UK would keep the four freedoms, or Gibraltar would suffer the consequences.”
