The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).

Over the weekend, the Chief Minister and Mrs Picardo left for London where they will attend an Evening Reception at Buckingham Palace. This Reception is the main diplomatic social event of the year in London and reflects Her Majesty The Queen’s importance in the country’s diplomatic relations. It is the largest reception held at Buckingham Palace and takes place annually. Invitees include members of the British Cabinet, past Prime Ministers and other public figures.
