It’s Friday, it’s hot, I’ve had a long week and to be honest with you, I really want to go home! That said though, I have decided to give my blog a very chilled out, Friday vibe. By that I mean that I am not going to write about anything serious or anything important today. Instead Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, I am going to talk about, the ONE, the ONLY....... Chuck Norris!

I have been talking with my team, we have brainstormed and we came up with a shortlist of lots of things that we could talk about today. After I scrunched up the list, threw it in the bin, I felt powerful and great and that reminded me of Chuck Norris. Now that is what you call inspiration.

Chuck Norrisms, as they are called, have been around for years now, and he has become somewhat of a legend, even to the point where some online game made a commercial with him in it... Stating “the only reason people could play the game was because Chuck Norris allowed them to.”

Born in Oklahoma on March 10, 1940, Charles Ray Norris was described as a non-athletic, shy and scholastically mediocre child. He went on to join the Air Force and was sent out to South Korea in 1958. During this time he picked up his nickname, Chuck and started training in Tang Soo Do (which obviously he got a black belt in). This lead to the creation and founding of Chun Kuk Do (“universal way”). Chuck then created the United Fighting Arts Federation and Kickstart education associations.

Chuck’s Chun Kuk Do, like many martial arts, has a code of honour and rules to it. This is Chuck Norris’ personal code:

1. I will develop myself to the maximum of my potential in all ways.
2. I will forget the mistakes of the past and press on to greater achievements.
3. I will continually work at developing love, happiness and loyalty in my family.
4. I will look for the good in all people and make them feel worthwhile.
5. If I have nothing good to say about a person, I will say nothing.
6. I will always be as enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own.
7. I will maintain an attitude of open-mindedness.
8. I will maintain respect for those in authority and demonstrate this respect at all times.
9. I will always remain loyal to my God, my country, family and my friends.
10. I will remain highly goal-oriented throughout my life because that positive attitude helps my family, my country and myself.

But the best thing Chuck Norris has given the world is the never ending jokes and quotes of how absolutely amazing he really is. A lot of the facts are unknown to most, but researchers have assured me that these are all true (there is a slight chance that some of these may not be 100% factual).

This is just a very small selection, there are thousands of these out there and it has become a Cult following. Books have been made, T-Shirts printed and even whole websites just dedicated to these Chuck Norris sayings.
