Ocean Village Cardboard Boat Race 2025

This year's Cardboard Boat Race raised £11,382.10 in aid of Cancer Relief Gibraltar and GBC Open Day.
A statement from Ocean Village and the RAOB follows below:
Ocean Village and the RAOB, together with main sponsor Pretty Sailing, are proud to announce the resounding success of this year’s Cardboard Boat Race, which brought Gibraltar’s marina to life with colour, creativity and community spirit.
The event raised a record-breaking £11,382.10 in aid of Cancer Relief Gibraltar and the GBC Open Day, thanks to the brave teams who set sail in their cardboard creations, the generous support of the public and our valued sponsors.
We are deeply grateful to Pretty Sailing for their generous support and enthusiasm, which were instrumental in ensuring the event’s success and making this year’s race bigger and better than ever. We would also like to thank Property Zone and Yamaha Pitstop who came on board with last-minute sponsorship, helping us add even more impact to the day. Special thanks also to the Ocean Village Marina team, who worked incredibly hard to ensure that everyone was looked after and the event ran smoothly.
Alongside the thrilling races, spectators enjoyed water sports and a vibrant programme of entertainment, from a crowd-pleasing Elvis tribute act to dazzling salsa dancers, ensuring the marina was buzzing with energy from start to finish.
A returning highlight was the zip line, which debuted last year but this year, was even larger. Stretching the full width of the marina from Leisure Island to Watergardens, it gave thrill-seekers a bird’s-eye view of the fun before splashing down to join the festivities.
Ocean Village and the RAOB would like to thank Pretty Sailing, Property Zone, Yamaha Pitstop Garage, all participants, volunteers, and spectators for helping to make this year’s event a record-breaker. Thank you also to all who so generously donated fabulous raffle prizes. Plans are already in motion for next year’s race, and we can’t wait to see what floats (and sinks!) in 2026.
