Just a little less than £5,000 was raised by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC) and other Gibraltar organisations wore shorts to work to raise awareness and funds for Prostate Cancer Support Group Gibraltar.
The Trustees of the Calpe House Charitable Trust have thanked young people from the Gibraltar Youth Service and staff for their fundraising efforts towards the appeal.
A cheque presentation took place this afternoon at Bruno’s to distribute the proceeds of a charity sky dive. The Prostate Cancer Support Gibraltar and the Gibraltar Alzheimer’s and Dementia Society each received a cheque for £5,189.
Two old school friends (Michelle Manning and Maria Palma) recently organised a Charity Skydive in Sevilla. Over 35 people took part in the event, raising a total of £10,378.
Now in its 8th year, the now infamous Ocean Village/RAOB Charity Cardboard Boat Race took place at Ocean Village Marina on Saturday at midday and with the temperature topping out at 32 degrees, many participants welcomed a refreshing dip in the marina waters when several of their cardboard boat creations, as expected, fell apart at the first hurdle.
