Famous television and film actress, comedienne and celebrity Maureen Lipman, will be returning to the Rock for the forthcoming third edition of the Gibunco Gibraltar International Literary Festival.
Miss Gibraltar’s 1st Princess, Bianca Pisharello, is currently participating at Miss International 2015 which is being held in Japan.
The Government says it is delighted to announce business newspaper City A.M. will be the ‘UK Media Partner’ of the Literary Festival. City A.M. has been in production for 10 years and it now has a daily readership in excess of 399,000, many of whom work in the City of London. It has a website which is said to out-perform ‘The Times’, ‘The Telegraph’, and ‘The FT’ in terms of the percentage of wealthy readers.
Local writer and poet Rebecca Faller has been short-listed in the poetry section of The Bridport Prize for her poem ‘Sunday’ which takes a nostalgic look at days gone by. Ms Faller's poem finished in the top 200 of some 7,000 submissions. This is the first time Ms Faller has entered an international writing competition and is said to be “delighted and shocked in equal measure”.
The GSD Opposition has publicly congratulated the Gibraltar National Dance Organisation for its “excellent hosting” of the 2015 IDO European Showdance Championships. The party says that organising an event of this magnitude, and to such high standards, is no easy task and each and every person who contributed in making this possible should be personally congratulated.
