The Cross Frontier Group visited the Andalusian Parliament in Seville on Wednesday where a debate on establishing support for the creation of a European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) between Gibraltar and La Linea de la Concepcion (which would then be extended to the rest of the Campo de Gibraltar) was tabled by Izquierda Unida.
The Opposition has said that, at yesterday’s Parliamentary session, GSD MP Lawrence Llamas questioned the Government as to why the Government were not updating and maintaining signs in Gibraltar, in particular with relation to the four month old Windsor Bridge and the almost three month old Mid-Town Multi Storey car park. This came as a result of a study conducted by Mr Llamas, in which he has been gathering feedback from tourists in Gibraltar and online.
The Government has said that it considers the Opposition’s call for a Brexit strategy that is ‘as simple as possible’ to be “so one-dimensional that it is unhelpful to Gibraltar’s cause”.
The Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC) has today announced a major investigation into Enterprise Insurance Company plc (Enterprise) and its board of directors. The GFSC has reason to believe that it may have been significantly and consistently misled about Enterprise’s true financial position.
The Minister for Culture, Steven Linares, has sent a message of best wishes on behalf of everyone in Gibraltar to Miss Gibraltar’s 1st Princess, Joseanne Bear who will be participating at the Miss International Pageant Finals taking place in Japan this coming Thursday.
Albert Isola, the Minister with responsibility for Financial Services, is in Beijing this week for a series of meetings and presentations focusing on, but not limited to, insurance-based opportunities in Gibraltar for Chinese companies. This visit follows on from significant groundwork carried out by Gibraltar Finance with Willis Towers Watson in China.
