In what marks the start of a campaign to bring together Gibraltar’s key representative and civil society organisations, the newly formed ‘Gibraltar Stronger In Europe’ board met today with the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia and the Leader of the Opposition Daniel Feetham, who, in their capacities as party leaders, have confirmed their wholehearted support for the Stronger In Campaign.
Acclaimed award-winning Asian-inspired eatery, wagamama, is coming to Gibraltar this summer. Offering a flavoursome pan-Asian menu, the Ocean Village-based outlet will be an Iberian Peninsula debut for this rapidly-expanding restaurant chain.
The Government says that it is firmly of the view that to issue new business licences to trade in tobacco, by way of wholesale and/or retail, “may pose a serious reputational risk to Gibraltar and may have a negative impact on the day to day lives of those living and working in Gibraltar.”

Members of the Royal Gibraltar Police's Recruit Class 01/16 who are currently on Week 12 of their 21-week training programme have organised a family Fun Day to raise funds for local drugs awareness charity “Stay Clean.” This annual event forms part of the recruits’ community project strand, and will take place between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 16th April at Casemates Square. Last year’s event saw recruits pull a Marine Section RHIB and jet-ski along Main Street, raising a total of £2,353.00 for charity.
The Government says that the “astonishment” of the Opposition at the success of the Government and Gibraltar Tourist Board in attracting major international airlines to increase their services to Gibraltar “is revealing of the Party’s lack of vision for and understanding of the tourist industry.”
Matteo Perucchini, ocean rower for Sogno Atlantico and experienced athlete, decided to row across the Atlantic Ocean in December 2015 for two good reasons: to raise funds for charity and to achieve the biggest challenge of his life, to row over 3,000 miles solo and completely unassisted. Matteo made it! He completed the crossing in 52 days, winning the solo category and setting a new race record.
