The Gibraltar Botanic Gardens have engaged UK-based environmental artist Paul Sivell to produce a number of wood carvings around the Alameda, as part of the Alameda's Bicentenary celebrations.
The Environmental Safety Group (ESG) says it also welcomes the statement by the SDGG regarding the end of a mass release of balloons on National Day. The group says it has campaigned for some years for this ban alongside the GONHS and many individuals. The ESG adds that the recent visit and efforts by Lewis Pugh is also recognised.
