Jun 14 - ERG Commends Government Of Gibraltar For Showing Solidarity With Orlando Victims
The Equality Rights Group has expressed it sincere appreciation and gratitude to Chief Minister Fabian Picardo for his unambiguous solidarity with the LGBTI community following the vile and hateful mass murders of innocents at a nightclub in Orlando, Florida.
ERG Chairman Felix Alvarez said: "On behalf not only of myself but also of Secretary Charles Trico, all ERG supporters, friends and allies, I would, just as clearly and just as unambiguously, like to return the gesture of unequivocal support with a very big and a very simple ‘thank you’ to the Government of Gibraltar."
Last night and tonight the Moorish Castle was lit in the colours of the rainbow flag to show solidarity and support for the 49 people killed and the many injured in what is being described as the worst mass shooting in recent US history. The rainbow flag is also flying at half mast outside No 6 today.
