Ministry of Equality to Mark Pride Month with a Conference Event

The Ministry of Equality will be marking Pride month with a morning conference on 26th June. This conference builds upon the Ministry of Equality’s Pride events last year and is the second Pride initiative this month following on from the launch of the writing initiative, ‘Closets are for Clothes, Not People,’ earlier this week.
The aim of the conference is to generate a positive conversation about LGBTQ+ matters and to embed inclusion in the workplace and across the community.
The conference will include panel discussions, presentations, personal testimony and interactive engagement. The conference will run from 9am to 1pm.
The event is open to the public, but registration is necessary. To register please contact [email protected] or telephone 200 42509. Early registration is strongly advised.
Minister for Equality, Christian Santos, said: “The Ministry of Equality’s events to mark Pride last year were a great success and I wanted to build upon that this year. Whilst Pride has been marked in many ways in the past, this conference, I believe, is the first of its kind in Gibraltar. The aim is to discuss LGBTQ+ matters in a way which is constructive and inclusive, and which promotes respect and equality.”
