Aug 20 - GibSams To Launch Chatty Cafe Scheme
GibSams will be launching the Chatty Cafe Scheme on September 1st. Costa Coffee, which runs the scheme in all their establishments throughout the UK, will be extending this to their cafes in Gibraltar.
GibSams is launching this initiative as part of their “Let’s get Gibraltar Talking” campaign.
A spokesperson said: "A Chatter & Natter table is where customers can sit if they are happy to talk to other customers. The Chatty Café Scheme focuses on bringing people of all ages and from all walks of life together. We are looking for large and small cafes, supermarket cafes, community cafes and restaurants, to get involved so that just maybe we can make the Chatter & Natter table a part of everyday Gibraltar culture.
"A Chatter & Natter table brings people together and everyone is invited! If you’re on your own, in a couple, with a friend, if you’re a carer why not sit there with who you care for, mums and babies, dads and babies, grandparents and babies, young people, older people and anyone in between!
"When you are feeling lonely, a short interaction with another human being can really brighten your day. A Chatter & Natter table creates a space for people to talk, whether it is for five minutes while you have a drink, or an hour of good conversation. We are not trying to build friendships – just simple interactions to combat loneliness or just, maybe, have a big impact on someone’s day.
"We hope local establishments will join the GibSams Chatty Cafe Scheme. Participating establishments will decide the day and time they are setting up a Chatter Natter table, which will have the poster we will provide them with, clearly displayed on the table.
"We will be listing the dates, times and venues on our Chatty Cafe Facebook page, our GibSams website and the UK Chatty Cafe website so visitors to Gibraltar, who already know about the scheme, can know where to go."
To register your establishment for the Chatty Café Scheme, please email [email protected] or call 57705000.
