Summer Sports And Leisure Programme 2026

This year’s Summer Sports and Leisure Programme will start Monday 6th July until Friday 28th August. Registrations to Sports Train and the programmes Support and Integration Service is now open with links and QR codes available on the GSLA Website. Face to face registration available at the Bayside Sports Complex 10am to 3pm.

Summer Sports & Leisure Programme due to start on Monday 6th July until Friday 28th August.
This year’s programme offers lots of sport, leisure and learning opportunities for the children and young people of Gibraltar throughout the summer, fun and being active being the main ingredients for Gibraltar’s youngsters. What is on offer this year:
Sports Train – organised sport and physical activities for children and young people between the ages of 5 years and 14 years to be held Mondays to Fridays 9am drop off to 12.30pm pickup. Depending on age groups venues will include Bayside Sports Complex, Europa Sports Complex, Lathbury Sports Complex, Sandy Bay and Europa Beach Volleyball Courts and Europa Pool. This year will see the programme work in partnership with local Sports Associations to ensure a wide variety of sporting and leisure activities are on offer
Sports Train Support and Integration Service - (A partnership between GSLA Sports Train and PossAbilities) A team of sports leaders available to support children and young people who access learning support in schools enabling them to join in and enjoy Sports Train activities.

Family Fun Evening – Every Wednesday 15th July to 26th August 7.30pm to 10pm. A recreation evening aimed at encouraging children and young people to play recreational activities with their parents, grandparents and family members. Paddle boarding, canoeing, rock climbing, table tennis, pickleball, darts, arts and crafts and fun games all available to those taking part. The Family Fun Evening is organised to attract neuro typical and neurodiverse families. Under 16’s to be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 years of age. No need to book just turn up.
Stay and Play – A programme of sporting and leisure activities, that also includes supporting the development of life skills, emotional wellbeing and continued learning for children through taking part in sport and leisure.
GSLA Sports Leadership Award Level 1 – Learning leadership skills through sport is the key message on this practical sports leadership course aimed at 14- and 15-year-olds. Organisational skills, building confidence and communication skills all on offer. Wednesday 15th July to Friday 17th July and Tuesday 21st to Friday 24th July 9.30am to 1.30pm. The leaders involved will complete their award by organising a Festival of Sport and undertaking voluntary hours on the Summer Sports & Leisure Programme.
GSLA Sports leadership Award Level 2 – A 40-hour course aimed at learning organisational, communication and motivational skills through sharing good practise in sport. This programme will start on Wednesday and Thursday 1st and 2nd July in the early evening, and Friday 3rd July in the morning. The course will then continue from Tuesday 28th July to Friday 31st July. A further 10 sessions of voluntary sports leadership will then be undertaken by Sports Leaders. Limited places available on both sports’ leadership awards.
