Three Kings Cavalcade - Traffic Management Arrangements

A number of road closures, parking restrictions and traffic diversions will be in place ahead of the Three Kings’ Cavalcade on Sunday 5th January 2025.
The event, which was due to start at 7.30pm, will now start from Casemates Square at 2pm and runs along Main Street up to Ince’s Hall.
Road Closures – Starting 12noon on Sunday 5th January until the end of the event
• Main Street will be closed to all northbound traffic from its junction with Trafalgar Hill to Governor’s Lane. Traffic will be diverted onto Queensway.
• Line Wall Road will be closed in both directions from the ICC to the Trafalgar Interchange.
• Market Place will be entirely closed from Waterport Road to under the Smith Dorrien Bridge (there is still access to the Landport Ditch Car Park). Residents of Fish Market Road and this area will be allowed to leave, but not enter during this time.

Parking Restrictions – Starting 5pm Saturday 4th January until the end of the event

• Crutchetts Ramp
• All vehicle/motorcycle parking spaces and lay-bys on Line Wall Road between ICC and the Trafalgar Interchange.
• On Main Street, from the Gibraltar Bank to Convent Place
• Bicycles must not be left unattended/secured in these locations or in Casemates Square.
Traffic Diversions – Starting 12noon Sunday 5th January until the end of the event
• There will be no access to the Upper Town via City Hall/City Mill Lane.
• Traffic leaving the Upper Town via Prince Edward’s Road / Hospital Hill will exit onto Governor’s Street and proceed against the flow of traffic along Town Range, past Convent Place and then back onto Prince Edward’s Road towards Flat Bastion Road and Gardiner’s Road, before exiting onto Europa Road.
Taxis and Buses
The taxi rank at Casemates Hill/Market Place and bus stop within Market Place will be moved to the lay-by opposite Watergardens. Taxis will use this stop for the duration of Sunday, whereas buses will move to Watergardens from Market Place from 12noon on Sunday, until the end of the event.
