Order Of The British Empire Gibraltar Association Holds Service Of Remembrance

The Order of the British Empire Gibraltar Association held a Service of Remembrance on Monday 20th January at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, both the Cathedral Dear, Rev Ian Tarrant, and the Chaplain of the Association, Fr Danny Hernandez, officiated.

The Service was well attended despite the inclement weather on the night. The Hon Mrs Gemma Areas Vasquez MP represented the Government of Gibraltar and Commodore Tom Guy attended in his capacity as Commander British Forces, Gibraltar. Honorary President The Hon Adolfo Canepa CMG OBE and his wife Julie were unable to attend due to ill health. The Dean wished them well on behalf of all present.
Late members being remembered were Mesod Belilo, Claire Borrell, Hector Cohen, Mary Dolding, Victor Dumas, Charles Flower, Mario Garcia, Robert Goldwin, Victoria Lombard, Cecil Montegriffo, Maruchi Risso and Manuel Ruiz. They were represented by members of their families and friends. Family members were invited to actively participate in the Service.
Following the Service Mrs Jean Penney BEM and Mrs Mary Sene BEM provided refreshments.
The OBE Gibraltar Association wishes to thank the Dean, Ian Tarrant, for offering the Cathedral for the Service and for his unwavering support to the Association.
