Record Number of Carpe Diem Runners Finish Half Marathon

A record number of runners from the Carpe Diem Running Club in Gibraltar completed the Sevilla Half Marathon yesterday.
Around 40 club members ran the 30th edition of the running event – with many achieving their fastest ever times in a half marathon.
The event was marred by rain and slippery roads – but for some runners in the club it was an opportunity to finish their first half marathon after months of training.
A spokesman for Carpe Diem Running Club, said: “Despite the rain and unfavourable conditions, our club had a lot of success with plenty of our runners recording personal best times.
“We always see a lot of our runners taking part in the event, who support each other like a family and make sure everyone gets over the finishing line in one piece. And, like always, there was a great atmosphere during the race – and certainly afterwards once the race had finished!
“On behalf of our club, we would like to congratulate all our runners for finishing what turned out to be quite a wet and gruelling run.”
