MAG Marks COVID-19 Lockdown Anniversary And Announces Concert Venue At Wellington Front

The Musicians Association of Gibraltar have marked the fifth anniversary of the COVID-19 lockdown and have announced their new live music venue at Wellington Front.
A statement from MAG follows below:
Today marks the fifth anniversary of the COVID-19 lockdown, a moment in history that reshaped our lives in ways we could never have imagined. It is also a day of reflection and remembrance, as we honor those we lost during the pandemic and acknowledge the resilience of our community.
For the Musicians Association of Gibraltar, this day holds special significance. It was during the lockdown that our members, along with other local musicians, came together in an extraordinary way. Through recorded and live-streamed performances shared across social media and other platforms, they provided hope, joy, and connection to those isolated in their homes. Music became a unifying force, transcending barriers of belief, creed, and circumstance to bring comfort during uncertain times.
Music has always been the language that unites us all, and during the pandemic, it proved to be a powerful source of strength. As we commemorate this anniversary, we take a moment to remember those we lost and to celebrate the spirit of unity that music helped foster.
The Musicians Association of Gibraltar remains committed to supporting local artists and ensuring that the power of music continues to inspire and heal. We extend our deepest gratitude to all those who contributed their talent and passion to uplifting our community during the lockdown.
In line with this commitment, we are proud to announce that MAG is about to open its own state-of-the-art live music venue at Wellington Front. This new space will provide musicians with a safe and professional environment to perform and showcase their talent, further strengthening Gibraltar’s vibrant live music scene.
Let us remember, reflect, and continue to make music that unites us all.
