Gustavo Bacarisas - A Book Illustrated And Written By Shane Dalmedo

Yesterday Gibraltar Cultural Services launched Gustavo Bacarisas, a book illustrated and written by Shane Dalmedo.
A statement from GCS follows below:
Gibraltar Cultural Services is delighted to announce the launch of Gustavo Bacarisas, a book illustrated and written by Shane Dalmedo. GCS are pleased to have published the book that celebrates the life and legacy of one of Gibraltar’s most celebrated artists and Gibraltar’s first ever Freeman of the City.
The launch of the book coincides with three major events happening this year: VE Day 80 and Heritage Week this week, the 10th Anniversary of the Mario Finlayson National Gallery on the 3rd June, and as a prelude to the upcoming Gibunco Gibraltar Literary Festival in November.
Guests gathered to honour Bacarisas’ remarkable artistic journey, brought to life through Shane Dalmedo’s illustrations and narrative of this children’s book. The book has been in the making for many years and is a result of careful research and passion for the subject.
The Gibraltar Academy of Music and Performing Arts (GAMPA) will stage a special theatrical performance of the book on Friday 9th May in the afternoon, transforming the story into a dynamic live production.
Books are now available for sale from BookGem, the Gibraltar Heritage Trust and The City Hall.
