The Government have issued a statement providing assurances to residents of Harbour Views in relation to the proposed reclamation and future development of land at the Western Sea Front. 

A statement from the Government follows below:

HM Government of Gibraltar wishes to provide assurances to residents of Harbour Views in relation to the proposed reclamation and future development of land at the Western Sea Front. 

The interests of all residents in the area will be fully considered and protected throughout the reclamation works and during the development of the reclaimed land. 

In particular, access to the Harbour Views car park will be protected during the development process, and appropriate measures will be taken to ensure that the works do not adversely affect the estate’s existing infrastructure. 

The development of the area will also provide opportunities to enhance local amenities for the benefit of the wider community, including improvements to the promenade, the children’s play park and infrastructure serving both the existing housing and any future development. 

The reclamation and subsequent development will be carried out responsibly, with appropriate safeguards for neighbouring residents and a focus on delivering long-term improvements for the area. HM Government of Gibraltar commits to engaging constructively with the Harbour Views management committee as the project progresses.
