Local Schools To Offer Balanced Being Books To Students

Balanced Being, one of this year's Young Enterprise teams, says the Department of Education has purchased 30 copies of their 'Healthy Eating Adventures' books and will be making these available to students at local schools.
A statement from the Balanced Being Young Enterprise Team follows below:
‘Balanced Being’, one of the teams taking part in this year’s Young Enterprise competition, met with the Director of Education, Ms Keri Scott, coinciding with the Department of Education’s decision to purchase thirty of the Group’s “Healthy Eating Adventures” books, to be made available to pupils across all schools. “We are very grateful to the Director of Education for her time and interest,” said a spokesperson for the group of nine Bayside students. “During the meeting, we highlighted the interactive design and the principal aim of making healthy eating enjoyable for children, encouraging positive habits through fun and engaging content.
We are so proud of our book and the support from the community has been overwhelming. ‘Healthy Eating Adventures’ is now in hundreds of Gibraltar homes, but it’s fantastic to know that many copies are also being made available in our schools.”
This is one of the latest initiatives by ‘Balanced Being’, who over the past few weeks and months have sold about 300 copies of their book promoting healthy eating and lifestyles for young children aged between five and ten years old. The book, which is also on sale at Holland & Barrett, has been a tremendous success, with members of the ‘Balanced Being’ team having delivered talks to students and organised a number of promotional events. The latest of these, on Sunday, took place at the Alameda Gardens Education Centre. Over one hundred children attended and enjoyed partaking in activities such as a butterfly walk and Zumba fitness sessions.
