Traffic Management Arrangements – HM King’s Birthday Parade

The Royal Gibraltar Police will be implementing a number of parking restrictions, road closures and diversions as part of the wider policing and security operation for this year’s King’s Birthday Parade, scheduled to take place at Casemates Square in the evening of Thursday 12th June.
A statement from the RGP follows below:
Additionally, bicycles/PLETs will be restricted from parking/securing at some locations, as directed by appropriate signage.
Parking Restrictions (8:00am Thursday 12th June until further notice)
∙ Corral Road in its entirety, including m/cycle parking bays.
∙ Landport Ditch carpark (row of parking spaces parallel to the city wall below “Grand Battery,” as well as the first row of parking spaces situated directly opposite this wall).
Bicycle / PLET parking restrictions:
∙ Casemates Square and Market Place
From 08:00hrs on Thursday 12th June until further notice.
Road Closures (18:00hrs to 20:30hrs Thursday 12th June)
∙ Corral Road and Market Place will be closed in their entirety to all vehicular traffic.
1. Access into Landport Ditch parking will be available during this time from Smith Dorrien Avenue and Winston Churchill Avenue only.
Note: access into Landport Ditch and King’s Lines will be completely restricted for vehicles and pedestrians at 19:20hrs for a period of 10 minutes, in connection with the firing of a 21-gun salute.
2. Access into Fish Market Road / Main Street will be available for “Residents Only” via Waterport Roundabout by Gaucho’s Restaurant.
Public Bus and Taxi Services.
∙ Casemates Hill (taxi rank) will be temporarily re-located to Waterport Road opposite Watergardens, between 08:00hrs and 20:30hrs on 12th June only.
∙ Market Place Bus Terminus and Taxi Rank - will be temporarily relocated to Waterport Road opposite Watergardens, between 08:00hrs and 20:30hrs on 12th June only.
