The Ministry of Equality, Employment, Culture and Tourism has completed the second cycle of Applied Philosophy workshops and launched Painting and Maintenance Skills Enhancement workshops at HMP Windmill Hill. 

The Applied Philosophy workshops were delivered under the PATHS programme by Eduardo Vergara Aguilar. Five inmates took part in the course which over six weeks introduced philosophical ideas designed to challenge perspectives and encourage critical reflection. 

On completing the programme, participants were presented with certificates to mark their engagement and commitment. 

Four inmates have taken part in the Painting and Maintenance Skills Enhancement practical workshops delivered as part of a 10-week skills-building initiative, enabling participants to gain knowledge, confidence and develop their employability skills. 

The management team and instructors from the Gibraltar Training Centre provided the guidelines for the workshop, as well as the materials for the project. The sessions were led by retired Principal Officer/Works Officer at the Prison Service, Stephen Garcia, together with the current Principal Officer (Works), Orlando Viñas.
