GHA Staff Awards 2025

The Gibraltar Health Authority held its Staff Awards ceremony at the Mayor’s Parlour last week, to formally recognise the professional dedication and hard work undertaken by GHA employees.
A statement from the Government follows below:
A total of 20 awards were presented over different categories to clinical and non-clinical teams and individuals with many prizes at stake.
Contributions by staff that have achieved strategic change for the betterment of the organisation, and examples of teamwork that positively impacts patient experience and safety formed the core of the event.
One of the highlights of the evening, “The Leadership Award”, personally selected by the Director General, was presented to Dr Roger Moore in recognition of his outstanding leadership in establishing the Keith Bautista Catheterisation Lab at St Bernard’s Hospital. Dr Moore was acknowledged for his visionary role in transforming patient care through the implementation of rapid, minimally invasive procedures that significantly reduce recovery times and mortality and enhances clinical outcomes.
There were also awards in other categories presented by the Medical Director, the Director of Nursing and Ambulance Service, Allied Health Professionals, Elderly Care, and three special staff awards for Excellence.
GHA Director General Kevin McGee said: “This event was held to celebrate the exceptional achievements of our dedicated staff and partner agencies. It gives me an enormous sense of pride to see the great response from our employees to an award that seeks to recognise excellence, innovation and commitment by individuals and teams across the organisation. It was a great event rewarding all those who have played a key role in the delivery of the highest standards of health care to our patients and the community at large.”
Minister for Health and Care, the Hon Gemma Arias-Vasquez, said: “It was a real pleasure to join the GHA at the Mayor’s Parlour to celebrate this year’s Staff Awards. Every single member of our GHA plays a part in delivering the GHA we all use. I want to say a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of them for the dedication and professionalism they bring to their work. They are the reason Gibraltar continues to receive the high standard of healthcare that our community depends on and deserves. Thank you!”
