SNDO To Host International Day of Persons with Disabilities Conference

In celebration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Supported Needs and Disability Office (SNDO) for the Ministry of Equality are hosting a conference on Wednesday 3rd December.
The conference will be opened by Minister for Equality, Employment, Culture and Tourism, Christian Santos. A range of panel discussions and speakers will follow.
Topics at the forefront this year will be:
- Disability Language
- Making Websites Accessible
- Universal Design: Accessibility in Buildings and Streets
- Hearing Loss – The Silent Disability
- The Neurodevelopmental Pathway
- Creating Community for persons who are neurodivergent
- The Supported Needs and Disability Office annual report
There will be a keynote speech from Ms Alice Macleod who is an attachment and trauma professional from the UK based company, Tribe Associates. Ms Macleod worked alongside the Supported Needs and Disability Office to develop an Attachment and Neurodiversity Information Guide for Parents of children who are neurodivergent. This was published at the beginning of November and can be downloaded at: www.disability.gov.gi/documents
At the conference she will be talking about, “Building Secure Foundations for Gibraltar”.
The conference will be held at the Sunborn Hotel’s Aurora Ball Room on Wednesday 3rd December. Doors open at 08:30am, the conference begins at 09:00am and will finish at 12:30pm.

The public are advised that there are limited seats available so reservations will be secured on a first come first served basis via email. Persons who do not have a reservation confirmed via email will not be allowed into the conference on the day.
