The Government have issued a Weather Advisory for Gale Force Winds as from Saturday 13th at 10 am to Sunday 14th at 7pm:

Validity : Sat 13 Dec (10 am) to Sun 14 Dec (7 pm)

Strong winds in association with a low pressure centre (Storm Emilia), tracking Southwest of the Iberian Peninsula, are currently expected to impact Gibraltar over the upcoming weekend. The strongest winds are expected from Saturday 13th December 09 Z (10 L) continuing into Sunday 14th 18 Z (19 L).

Easterly winds of approximately 20-30 KT (37-56 KM/h) with gusts 35-40 KT (65-75 KM/h) are expected to be frequent, with isolated gusts of 40-45 KT (75-85 KM/h) possible at times. Although the winds will be strong across Gibraltar, the strongest gusts will predominately be felt to the lee of the Rock (western side).

This warning will be monitored in the lead up to the event for changes in the forecast and will be amended or cancelled if required.

Accompanying this wind, heavy rainfall is also expected with the storm, though currently not reaching warnable thresholds - this will also be monitored by Met Office.
