Recently the Royal Gibraltar Regiment marked several promotions and professional achievements.
A statement from British Forces Gibraltar follows below:
Last week, the Royal Gibraltar Regiment marked several promotions and professional achievements, reflecting the continued dedication, professionalism and high standards demonstrated by its soldiers.
The Regiment was pleased to announce the promotion of Corporal Hall to the rank of Sergeant. This promotion recognises his leadership, commitment to duty and consistent professional conduct. The occasion also acknowledged the successful completion of the demanding Class 1 Armourers Course by Lance Corporals Knox and Conroy. This specialist qualification plays a vital role in ensuring the Regiment’s operational effectiveness and the safe maintenance of its weapons systems.
In addition to these achievements, two soldiers were awarded the Army Long Service and Good Conduct (LSGC) Medal, a distinguished honour instituted by King William IV in 1830. The medal was the first non-campaign award of the British Army and remains a significant mark of professionalism and integrity. Today, it is awarded to soldiers who have completed 15 years’ reckonable service without having been subject to civil or military discipline.
Sergeant Walton and Sergeant Spooner were awarded the LSGC Medal, recognising 15 years of irreproachable service. Warrant Officer Class 2 Ethaniel Jeffries-Mor was awarded his clasp for the LSGC, marking an exceptional 25 years of good conduct and service.
The Royal Gibraltar Regiment remains committed to recognising excellence, professionalism and long service. These achievements reflect the character and
dedication of its soldiers and continue to strengthen the Regiment’s proud traditions and operational effectiveness.
