Gibraltar In Commonwealth Youth Development Summit

Gibraltarian student Aditya Dhanwani has represented Gibraltar at the Commonwealth Youth Development Summit which took place at the University of Oxford last week.
A statement from the Government follows below:
The summit was convened by the Commonwealth Youth Council and it brought together youth leaders, policymakers, institutions and partners from across the Commonwealth in order to discuss the future of youth development in the organisation.
The objective of the Summit was to coordinate strategic political engagement ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Youth Forum, which will take place in Antigua and Barbuda in November. This will happen around the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
The Summit provided an opportunity to network with delegates and to listen to interventions from Commonwealth Ministers and other specialist leaders in their own fields.
Mr Dhanwani was selected from those attending to deliver a speech about young enterprise to the Summit, something he was very familiar with as a former winner with a group of such a scheme in Gibraltar.
The Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia, who is the Minister with responsibility for developing relations with the Commonwealth, and Mr Dhanwani discussed his participation the Summit.
This was the first time that Gibraltar has taken part in the Commonwealth Youth Development Summit, although it has participated in the Commonwealth Youth Forum in London (UK) in 2018, Kigali (Rwanda) in 2022 and in Apia (Samoa) in 2024.
